My name is Iphigenia Tsantili. I live in Athens but I love to travel around the world and experience my existence in all its dimensions.
I work in television and in various companies producing tv series, creating choreographies and plays and participating in tv programs, commercials and movies.
My skills of being highly organized and dedicated, with a positive attitude, have helped me throughout my life. I like dancing, painting, photographing, acting, hiking, biking, swimming, traveling, listening to music, reading and writing novels and poems, attending and giving seminars and dance lessons, as well as visiting monuments and museums. Living life to its fullest. Studying Business Administration at the Athens University of Economics and Business was my first degree and I am a communications expert with postgraduate studies in “Psychology and Media” at the Panteion University.
I am also a Dance Professor with a degree from the Higher Morianov Dance School and I have obtained a degree in French Literature from the French Academy (Sorbonne II, Option Litterature).
I am a member of the Athens Chamber of Commerce and the International Dance Council CID, recognized by Unesco. My choreographies have been presented at Dance Conferences in Athens.
I studied Creative Writing at Summer Course at Kingston University in collaboration with the British Council of Athens and at the Kapodistrian University in an E-learning program.
With the theater I came in contact early in my studies at the University. I studied progressive theater with professors Roula Pateraki and Gregory Konstantis Massalas, at Dodonaia school. I am still in the process, studying under professor Thodoris Atheridis at the Theater of Changes. In 1996 I directed the English theatrical play “The night of the arctic loons” in the University of La Verne in Athens. I took part in Brecht’s and Vitrac’s plays with the theatrical group ‘’Non actors’’. Currently, I am a member of Betty Livanou’s theatrical group “En Lefco”. We presented the historic political play by Iakovos Kabanellis “Our great circus” and I had the leading role. I took part in TV series of Kostas Koutsomitis and in the movie production ‘’Nikos Kazantzakis’’ by Yannis Smaragdis. I participated in the latest film by George Panousopoulos, which is a parody of today’s life in Greece.
On TV, I worked as a journalist in news bulletins as a Culture Editor, and as editor-in-chief and hostess in daily live programs. On the state channel of Cyprus (RIK1) I created and presented daily the popular live show “the Cyprus Hour” with news from Greece, Cyprus and the rest of the world, which linked expatriate Greek Cypriots and Greeks.
In Greece, I worked as a journalist and presenter at NET (Hellenic broadcasting cooperation) Mega and Alpha channels, in daily programs, where I have mostly presented scientific, educational and cultural subjects. While in entertainment programs I interviewed the biggest celebrities in the Greek and foreign music scene, rock and pop stars, in successful shows such as the ‘’Music Kaleidoscope’’ in National channel and ‘’20 Best songs” in Mega channel, which have been a nationwide success and are considered cult programs until our days.
In 2003, I was assistant producer for the TV spot: “The Olympic Champions at the Acropolis – a message for Peace”. The spot was broadcasted in all major Greek TV stations and throughout the world.
I was very blessed to have met in person and interviewed worldwide personalities, professors, philosophers and psychologists: Jacques Derida, Jaqueline de Romilly, Sir Peter Ustinov, Deepak Chopra, Helene Arveler, Irvin Yallom, Morgan Goodlander, Masa Momotake, Khentrul Rinpoche, a Non-Sectarian Master of Tibetan Buddhism and the Gong Master Don Conreaux, formerly known as Baba Don and Guru Jagat, one of the five original Kundalini Yoga Teachers designated by Yogi Bhajan in 1969.
Today I am still in the process of elaborating, developing and presenting my innovative idea, the “Spiral of Positive Energy”, which combines art with science. I have presented it since April 2013 to dozens of alternative therapy and psychology festivals and the Unesco CID World Dance Congress, to which I am a member, while articles on the Spiral have been published both in newspapers, on the Internet and in journals of Psychology and Medicine.
The “Spiral of Positive Energy” was based on my thesis “Images beyond phenomena”, for the postgraduate program Psychology and Media at the Panteion University, on my paper “Information production and transfer procedures”, an essay on John Searle’s book “Mind, Brain and Science” and on my paper with the title: “Health Education”, of the same postgraduate program. The Spiral is also a product of research on dance and the different streams of psychology and art therapy, that I attended with seminars and have obtained proper certifications.
Along with the presentation of this experiential dance therapy method, as an independent journalist, I report and comment on various subjects including wellness, health, culture and nutrition on my site ifigenia-tsantili.gr and my blog freespirit40plus.
I am also a Columnist at Poltitisonline.gr, a political and social internet newspaper. My column is ‘’ Ifigenia in Athens’’.
On the Cosmote TV’s channel, Body in Balance, I present a new program about consciousness where I interview athletes, scientists, doctors, dancers and life coaches, yoga and Pilates teachers among others.
